Plans, trials, and discounts FAQ

What does the free plan include?

Every account starts free. The free plan gives you the core product — storing and retrieving memories, the Supermemory MCP server, and plugin access — plus a monthly usage allowance that covers light real-world use. Paid plans raise that allowance and unlock connectors, teammates, and support tiers.

Allowances and the feature split change as the product evolves, so we don't publish them here. See the pricing page for current numbers.

How do I compare plans?

The pricing page is the only source we keep current. It shows each tier side by side: the included monthly usage, which connectors are available, seat counts, support level, and compliance and self-hosting options.

Two things are worth knowing before you compare:

  • Every paid plan includes a bundle of usage. You are not buying a seat licence and then paying for usage on top from zero.
  • What happens past the included allowance depends on your overage settings — see the “Understanding token limits and overages” article in this help center.

The gap between the entry plan and the top plan is too big. Is there a middle tier?

This is fair feedback and we hear it regularly. The lineup has expanded over time and now includes options between the entry paid plan and the top self-serve plan, so if you last looked a while ago it is worth checking the pricing page again.

If none of the published tiers fit your volume, that is exactly what custom pricing is for. Write to support with your expected monthly usage and we will quote something that fits. Enterprise agreements also cover custom terms, self-hosting, and SLAs.

Do free credits and plan limits reset every month?

Yes. Included usage resets at the start of each billing period. Unused included allowance does not roll over into the next period.

Credits you purchase as a top-up behave differently: they stay on your account until you consume them, rather than expiring at the period boundary.

Is there a trial for paid plans?

We don't advertise a self-serve trial. In practice the free plan works as one — it is not time-limited, so you can build against the real API and only upgrade when you outgrow the included usage.

If you need a paid tier's specific features to run an evaluation, contact support and describe what you're trying to test. We handle these individually.

Do you offer student, education, or nonprofit discounts?

We don't have a published discount program for these, but we do consider them case by case. Write to support from the account you want the discount applied to and include:

  • Who you are and what you're building
  • Your institution or organization, and proof of affiliation or status where relevant
  • Roughly how much usage you expect per month

Early-stage startups are handled through a separate track — see “The Supermemory Startup Program” article in this help center for what it includes and who qualifies.

Can I add teammates? Are seats plan-gated?

Yes, seats are tied to your plan, and higher tiers include more. Current seat counts per plan are on the pricing page.

For the mechanics of inviting people once you're on a plan that supports it, see “Managing your account: email, team members, and deletion”. If you need more seats than your tier includes, contact support rather than opening a second account.

I pay for the consumer app. Why does the API still show me as free?

The consumer app and the developer API platform are separate products that can sit on the same login. A subscription to one does not upgrade the other, and each is billed on its own.

This is the single most common billing surprise we see, and it is expected behavior rather than a bug. Check the billing page for the specific product you're using. If the plan you actually paid for isn't showing up in the product you bought it for, that is worth a support ticket — include your account email and the invoice.

Still not sure which plan you need?

Contact support with your expected monthly volume and the connectors or compliance requirements you need. For questions about what happens when you exceed your allowance, see “Understanding token limits and overages”. For invoices, see “Where to find your paid invoices”.
